Overview

School meals at Eastern have changed a lot over the years. Students today get more variety, as well as, nutritious foods they enjoy like salads, pasta, pizza, burgers, and "deli" sandwiches. Menus are planned to decrease fat, sodium, and sugar without sacrificing taste with choices of foods like fresh fruits and vegetables every day. We offer lunches for the athletes, special dietary needs, vegetarians. We also offer snack items for those who bring a lunch from home. A morning breakfast cart and After School Snack Program are available for those students who want to purchase nutritious food items during the mornings or afternoons and vegetarian meals are available daily.

A convenient, economical healthy School Lunch is available for $3.25 daily. All School Lunches include in combination with any Entree: Two Vegetable/Fruit Choices from those offered Daily, Plus a Choice of Milk.

Hot or Cold Line Lunch - $3.25
Second Entree Only - $2.25
Crispy French Fries - $1.00
Other "Ala Carte" Prices are Posted in the Cafeteria

The weekly menu can be viewed on the district website at any time.

Pre-Pay

One of the best ways to pre-plan for lunch options is to pre-pay for school lunch. Money can be directly deposited into a specific student's account and any food purchases will be deducted. Credits for students eligible for free meals are already in the account. Pre-paying comes with distinct advantages.

• A prepaid account saves you time
• You can pay by cash or check
• Only food items may be purchased, cash cannot be taken out of an account
• Students enjoy having their own account and learn to budget money
• There is no visible difference between free and paid accounts
• Since less cash is handled, cafeteria cashier lines move faster

To start just bring cash or a check (payable to Eastern High Schools Cafeteria Account) in an envelope with students full name, I.D. Number, date, and amount of deposit to the cafeteria or mail to our attention at the school address. Each student already has an account so the student only needs to have his/her Eastern ID card scanned at the cashier station and the account will be debited accordingly. Students can check their balances at any time by asking a cashier.

Free and Reduced Program

Students may be entitled to a free lunch or a reduced price lunch ($.40) each day. Eligibility is based on family income. Applications are available through Guidance or the Food Service Department. If there are any questions regarding eligibility, please contact Beth Cattell.
