Activities & Athletics
Overview
The opportunities offered by Eastern Regional in the area of extra and co-curricular activities play a major role in student life.
More than seventy-five (75) separate teams, clubs or groups designed to complement and enhance the academic program are available to students. In addition to twenty-two (22) athletic teams, including cheerleading squads, our students participate in:
• Student Government: Student Council
• Fine Arts: Thespian Honor Society, instrumental and vocal music ensembles, newspaper and yearbook, photography, drama and musical theater
• Service Organizations: Interact, Key Club, National Honor Society, Varsity Club, Student Alliance, Hospitality, African/Asian/Italian/Jewish/Spanish-American Clubs, Gay/Straight Alliance, SUCCESS Club, World Affairs Club, R.E.B.E.L Club
• Co-Curricular Organizations: Computer Club, Debate Club, Literary Club, Math Club, Mock Trial Club, Science League, Academic Challenge, Chess Club, Robotics, Psychology Club, Crew Club, D.E.C.A., F.B.L.A, E.S.C.A.P.E. and Art/French/ Spanish/German/Tri-M Honor Societies
In 2008-09:
• 5 Olympic Conference Championship Teams
• Field Hockey - 1 NJSIAA State Championship Team, 10 Straight NJSIAA Titles, 2008 Tournament of Champions victors and Ranked #1 in Southern NJ, Ranked #3 in Nation
• Voted 6th Best Athletic Program by the Courier Post
• Wrestling - 2 State Champions, 4 Regional Champions and 7 District Champions
• Girls Winter Track - 1 Individual NJSIAA Champion
